TAFE Digital Strathfield is now a Heart Safe School, ABLE and READY to help save lives in case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest

Thank you Linda and Amit from TAFE Strathfield for inviting Heart Safe Australia to raise awareness and education about saving a life in case of a heart attack or cardiac arrest with a lifesaving demonstration to staff and also broadcasted through Teams across Australia for students and staff.

TAFE Strathfield lifesaving demonstration

On average, 575 Australians suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest out-of-hospital every week and ONLY 1 out of 10 WILL SURVIVE!

Our Heart Safe Home School program initiative was created to raise awareness and education about the very important 3-STEPS to help save a life during a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) out-of-hospital and about the vital function that defibrillators (AED) can perform in saving lives in schools and communities across Australia.

Having access to defibrillators and very importantly, having awareness and education to help save a life in case of a heart attack and cardiac arrest out-of-hospital is needed across Australia.

It’s important to educate all staff in organisations to make sure everyone is ABLE and READY to help save a life whether at work or outside of work during our day-to-day life.

It’s also very important to educate students as they might be the ones to help save a life not only in school but at home and in the community.  Such lifesaving skills should be part of the Curriculum and provided yearly to students if not already.

Once again, a big THANK YOU to the Insurance Advisernet Foundation and Amanda Smith from Optimum Insurance for sponsorship for a defibrillator donation through the Staying Alive Foundation helping to make  TAFE Strathfield a Heart Safe School.

Being PROACTIVE with awareness and education with our Heart Safe School lifesaving program makes students and staff ABLE and READY to help save a life as opposed to being REACTIVE and not really know what to do!

Everybody can be a lifesaver with defibrillator awareness, access and lifesaving education.
