Empowering Young Lifesavers with Our Heart Safe School Program

Our innovative Heart Safe School® Program is on a mission to empower children with the knowledge and skills they need to act decisively in the critical moments of an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Through our comprehensive curriculum, we focus on the "3-Steps to Save a Life" initiative, underscoring the crucial role that defibrillators play in such emergencies.

We believe that equipping children with the ability to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies is not just education—it's a transformation into being capable, confident lifesavers. Whether it's assisting a family member at home or a stranger in the community, these skills are invaluable. Our aim is for every child to be prepared and proactive, making lifesaving know-how a standard part of their learning journey, repeated annually for reinforcement and skill retention.

Join us in creating a generation of heart-safe heroes, ready to make a difference when seconds count.

Such lifesaving knowledge can be applied during their day-to-day life as emergencies such as cardiac arrests and heart attacks can’t be predicted and fast action is required as emergencies services can’t always arrive within 5 minutes to help save a life.

Defibrillators are basically a "Doctor in a box" analysing the patient's condition and providing guidance for CPR and importantly shocking the patient to restart the heart if required.

Knowing WHERE the defibrillators are located and HOW to use them is critical to help save a life in case of a cardiac arrest as defibrillation within three minutes of collapse can increase the chance of survival to over 70%.

Is Your School Beyond a 3 to 5 Minute Reach from Emergency Services?

In Australia approximately 30,000 people sustain a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) out-of-hospital and are treated by emergency medical services (EMS) each year.

That’s 575 Australians suffering a SCA every week and ONLY 1 out of 10 WILL SURVIVE!
