St Mary’s Church in beautiful Manly is now a Heart Safe Community, ABLE and READY to save lives in case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

On average, 575 Australians suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest out-of-hospital every week and ONLY 1 out of 10 WILL SURVIVE!

Our Heart Safe Home Community program initiative raises awareness and education about the very important 3-STEPS to help save a life during a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) out-of-hospital and about the vital function that defibrillators (AED) can perform in saving lives in communities across Australia.

Having access to defibrillators and very importantly, having awareness and education to help save a life in case of a heart attack and especially cardiac arrest out-of-hospital is needed across Australia.

Thank you to Father John and St Mary’s Church for allowing our Staying Alive Foundation and Heart Safe Australia team to provide morning tea and a lifesaving demonstrations to church patrons after both morning and mid-morning mass last Sunday.

A big THANK YOU to the Insurance Advisernet Foundation and Amanda Smith from Optimum Insurance for sponsorship for the defibrillator donation make St-Mary’s church a Heart Safe Community.

Being PROACTIVE with awareness and education with our Heart Safe Community in churches and other community areas makes regular people ABLE and READY to help save a life as opposed to being REACTIVE and not really know what to do!

Everybody can be a lifesaver with defibrillator awareness, access and lifesaving education.
