Creating a Heart Safe Community in beautiful Manly

Creating a Heart Safe Community in beautiful Manly

Heart Safe Australia and the Manly Business Chamber have combined efforts to create a Heart Safe Community in the Rialto Square to help save lives in case of cardiac arrests out-of-hospital.

Last Thursday March 16th, a defibrillator donation by the Manly Business Chamber and a lifesaving demonstration by Heart Safe Australia raising awareness and education with the 3-Steps to help save a life in case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest was provided to locals.

The Cause:

On average, 575 Australians suffer a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) every week... and ONLY 1 in 10 SURVIVES!

Heart Safe Australia’s mission is to raise such awareness about being ABLE and READY to help save a life by knowing where the defibrillators are located and the education of using a defibrillator and performing CPR while following the D.R.S.A.B.C.D. guidance.

Both Hon James Griffin MP, Member for Manly and Michael Regan, Mayor of the Northern Beaches supported the initiative and attended the lifesaving demonstration.

A BIG Thank you to the Manly Business Chamber for donating a defibrillator to help save lives as especially Monique and Chantelle for organising and your support in making this event happen.

Another defibrillator has also been installed by the Council by the Manly Library also to be used to help save a life in case of a cardiac arrest.
